i am always loggin as root when running rpmdrake-remove (the only way..). the owner was the user (me) and the permission were r-- r-- ---.
OK, change the owner:group of the files to root:root and set permissions to 775 ..
( chown root:root files; chmod +775 files)
have to make a script that will change the contents of .kde everytime kde is started?
Better yet, it would be nice to find the script that does this in the first place, and kill the bastard.
changing the permissions helped but i won't give up that easily and still tryig to find out WHERE is that damned script..
i did the following steps:
1. deleted everything from ~/.kde/share/applnk-mdk
2. restarted kde
3. seems good. link to openoffice writer (with terrible windowmanager_section icon) is gone
4. so i ran rpmdrake-remove and removed some gnomegames
5. restarted kde
6. ooops. the ~/.kde/share/applnk-mdk structure is recreated (does not bother that much) but so is the ooo writer link (well, actually this really sucks)
7. find / -name Open*.desktop didn't help. i found nothing realated to this issue under /usr/share/applnk-mdk so please can anybody tell me how this link can be recreated??
===the contents of OpenOffice\ Writer.desktop:=== [Desktop Entry] Name=OpenOffice Writer Comment=OpenOffice Writer Exec=oowriter Terminal=false Icon=windowmanager_section.png Type=Application Name[cs]=OpenOffice Writer Name[sk]=OpenOffice Writer
