If anything, you can create a key-combo to do it.
Check through the Gnome Control Center. It's not always as
straight-forward - but if you change the window manager (Metacity) to
Sawfish, you'll have heaps more control over the desktop and
applications...although it's a "hack" to do so and sometimes plays up
the wrong way...
