If you prefer a gui (and the advantage is a short description of each package) you may wish to use Configuration > Packaging > Install Software (or Remove Software). The same can be found in mcc (Mandrake Control Centre) under Software Management. It does exactly the same as Greg told you - it just adds a gui front-end. Anne
