KDE - The K Desktop Environment (Close to Windows-ish, but highly
configurable - lots of "eye candy" and functionality)

GNOME - Another desktop environment, but without the consistency and
ease of configuration as KDE; mostly used by RedHatters, and quite often
breaks beyond fixing.

IceWM - another WINDOW MANAGER without the "desktop" environment. Fast,
nice on slow machines, looks rather Windows-ish.

FAILSAFE - the default XWindows window manager - probably twm, mwm or
Fvwm.

Default - KDE
