Stephen,
I don't seem to have an autostart under "/yourname/Destktop/"

I do have an autostart under "/home/yourname/.kde/Autostart"

Is that what you meant?

Create a link to the script and put it in your
~/home/yournamehere/Desktop/Autostart folder.
