Damn. Had to reboot anyway. KDE wouldn't let me in. I did wonder about 
getting this machine to do the Windows authentication, maybe some of 
the setup is wrong. winbindd doesn't appear in top anymore, I'll keep 
my eye out for it in another three weeks time.
