the white on red means that the targets of the links don't exist, in the past i bought a serial cradle for my palm because at the time there was some pronlem where sinply plugging in the cradle didn't create the device files but that only happened when you pressed the hot sync button with the pam in but when you did that the hotsync fialed because util then it couldn't 'see' the cradle, how this works now i don't know cos i just put up with the slow serial link
