man anacrontab tells you how to adjust it. Or you could simply adjust the time of your cron.daily and cron.weekly jobs to a time when the computer is likely to be switched on. It is logrotate and updatedb that really thrashes the HD. I just wanted to get over the point that if the user leaves the system as default then their jobs will never get done if they switch off at night. derek And BTW: Before Anne asks.
