Derek, Thank you very much for the link. I didn't know this and it helped me to run alsaconf. It created a new version of the modules.conf but that was fine because I had backed up the file because you warned me. Since then I do not get a warning anymore when starting kmix from a terminal, but I also still do not have any sound. Is there anything else that I can do? TIA, Erik
