I used slmodem-2.9.4 and I get dialtone and I am able to dial. It looks like this:

Now the exit code 10 means:
10 The PPP negotiation failed, that is, it didn't reach the point
where at least one network protocol (e.g. IP) was running.But I am lost now as for where to look further. Should I modify the config of wvdial or pppd? Or is it something completely different?
