I've successfully setup Yellow Dog, Mandrake, Gentoo and Debian on my
Powerbook Pismo, so it's certainly worth trying to put Mandrake on your
old tower. The PPC versions of the distros are a little behind the x86
versions, but they are certainly useable. The only thing that is a
pain in the butt for your computer is it's an Old World machine and
will need BootX to get into Linux. Still, it's worth trying, even for
the learning experience.
