Maybe if you tried running the command below with the flash drive plugged in, as super user, you wouldn't have to reboot. mount -a That should mount anything the file system table has specified. Take a look at /etc/mtab, run the command above and have another look. mtab lists what's mounted, based on the configuration in /etc/fstab. Maybe we'll see something if you post a copy of both fstab and mtab.
