I opened my home folder and I see a lot of files and folders that I don't know...
Is there a way to know what to do with them or can I move them around to make my home folder readable?

Do these files begin with . (a dot)? If yes these files are hidden files; mostly configuration file (and should not be delete). You can turn the display of these files off by checking the apprpriate options for yours file manager (there should be an option like "show hidden files")
