Did you remember to edit the XF86Config-4 file in /etc/X11 to change the driver in X from nv to nvidia? >From within X, open up a konsole window and type in lsmod and then try to see if you have the nvidia module loaded. If you do not, then you have not properly installed the nvidia driver. -- Bryan Phinney
