I recently moved the /home directory on my Linux box over to a new HD,
everything seemed to go fine except that remote FTP access stopped working.
I can FTP into localhost just fine but whenever I try to FTP in across the
LAN, it connects but then dies while "waiting for welcome message" (in
CuteFTP that is where it dies, in just the plain FTP client, it times out
just after the "Connected to 192.168.1.3" line.

So I tried removing the wuftpd package and installed ProFTPd (I wanted to
switch anyway, figured this was as good a time as any), unfortunately this
didn't resolve the situation. I am launching the daemon through inetd.

I wish I had some debug messages of some sort but unfortunately the only
line that shows up in /var/log/messages is that the FTP connection was
closed, nothing before that. Is there some other log file I should be
looking in? Or is there a way to launch ProFTPd into debug level 5 through
inetd?

Thanks in advance. :)
