If you want to run Windows programmes then run Windows.

While it is possible to use Wine to run **some** Windows applications in Linux
it is not straightforward, and you are not likely to succeed on your first
day as a Linux user. Why not try out some Linux applications? There are some
great ones on your CDs

Ask if you want some tips on which apps to use.

If you have some specialised need to run specific Windows apps, then checkout
www.codeweavers.com for a version of Wine which makes office type Windows apps
easy to install for a newbie. (It costs money), or if gaming is your thing go
to www.transgaming.com for a version of Wine optimised for **certain**
Windows games. (It costs money) Or go to www.netraverse.com if you want to
run Windows98 INSIDE Linux
