It's not the OS version you need to concern yourself with as much as the _kind_ of software. Being Win32 software does not make any software risky--it's whether or not the software is open or closed source. If you go to SourceForge, you'll find a ton of open source software that is made for Windows. I'd trust any Win32 software I get from there. Miark
