Anne, I'm thinking I'll put together a page about describing the whole Hotplug / Magicdev thing from a user point of view, i.e. explain that when you plug stuff in / insert a CD, here's the programs Mdk starts by default if installed, here's how to change them, etc. Then on the Audio and Cameras page have a short description of the fix and a link to the new page for more details. It will take a few days to put together.
