If you buy an external modem that connects to a serial port you can be pretty certain that it will be a no-brainer to set up. BTW, it helps if gmail users put a reminder at the top of their posts - something like 'I;m a gmail user - please reply to the list'. Gmail's setup means that all replies come directly to you instead of the list unless we alter the 'To' line, so we need reminding.
