Had you done a lot of work in terms of configuration or installation on the
old system? I ask because probably the easiest thing to do would be to make
a new install on the new, bigger disk, then access the old disk as additional
storage. Use the Expert option when you get to the partitioning bit. If you
had a separate /home partition on the old disk you will be able to use that
again, so you won't lose any data. If you didn't, create a separate one on
the new disk. You will be able to copy data over later. Mount the old disk
in that case under any name you will recognise as being the additional
storage. I can't remember whether you can do this at install, but if you
can't it's easily done in Mandrake Control Center afterwards. Either way,
you shouldn't lose your data. The install only needs to format the partition
that will hold your new installation. Home can be re-used over several
distros (and often is - I think my /home is on it's fourth use, and could
really do with some spring cleaning :-) )
