Well, the way *I* have always configured DNS is to drop to
a console window, go to the /etc directory and hand edit
the resolv.conf file so that it looks like this (here's a
copy of mine -- edit yours to match your settings):
search chattanooga.net
nameserver 209.54.120.2
nameserver 209.54.120.3
