Since you're on the subject of Desktop Icons, I would prefer to have no icons
at all on my desktop in KDE. I presently have nine left (printer, cd-rom,
floppy, linuxconf, rpm, home, autostart, templates and trash). I'd like to
have the floppy and cd-rom on the panel (to mount-unmount) but for the rest I
have no real use for, I may eventually need the startup folder I don't know but
it's empty right now. Print, I can do from the applications, I delete from gmc,
rpm?, I mainly use KPackage. All in all I'd rather have no icons on the
desktop, but I know that if I put any on the panel and delete the icon, it goes
from the panel too, obviously since the link is deleted.
Basically, can I install the floppy and the cd-rom on the panel and delete all
the icons without risk of causing problems elsewhere?
Thanks all.
