Well, I'll admit up front that I don't have a CDR or CDRW. However, I
think I recall reading from various people that you need to have a
second entry in /etc/fstab for the CDRW  and for the CD-player side
of things. Set both NOT to automount and you should be able to select
the one you need at a given time.
