Yes... IF you have a separate partition for /home. Otherwise, you'll
need to back everything up in your /home directory tree and then copy
it back afterwards... and there's no guarantee everything will be
happy with the upgrade... i.e. format changes to certain config files
may cause you to reconfigure your setup of some programs. All in all,
though, it's probably easier than upgrading Windows.... I should
know. I upgraded my Windows box's motherboard and had to reinstall
Windows from scratch and that was a REAL headache! :-)
