A very simple fix would be to use mc (midnite
commander)... it works very well and is a familiar
interface for those who used norton commander .
for http downloads lynx works good enough to even
bring
home corel word perfect ! A great rpm site is 
rufus.w3.org 
p.s. the above are not graphical but are easy to use.
