Yes I have run sndconfig, it identifies it as Ensoniq Es1371 but you never
hear the sample.I checked to see if module "emu10k1" was installed and it
was, also checked module "es1371". After rereading the "howto's " I did a
cat /dev/sndstat  and it said  no device. How do I link this to the kernel?

Also did a complete new install enabling PnP os in the bios, didn't help.
