Do the install files in question end with a .tar.gz or with a .rpm?
I do not know of any modern internal modems that work
very well with Linux, except if you go to http://www.linmodems.org
which should describe stuff about winmodem drivers,
now hoping that your internal modem is a real modem,
then you should be able to set it up with Kppp.
