Hello,

I am trying to install Mandrake Linux 7.0 on a Dell Inspiron (portable
computer) and I have been warned to edit the lilo.conf file before the first
boot (the LCD Display needs some special care and settings). Unfortunately, I
am given no chance to refuse starting X at install using the "Recommended"
Install. And indeed when I boot, X starts and the display gets weird. Would
you be me, you would probably do what I do, that is immediately switch off
the computer to avoid damages (of the LCD).
Is there any way to avoid starting X at boot time ? Might this "bug" in the
install procedure (the fact that I cannot choose not to start X at boot time)
be limited to this computer model ? Is there a way to avoid starting X at
boot time ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
