I have exactly the same ATI card, have only used Mandrake 6 & 7, and had it
recognized right at the outset. Problem I had at first (may be yours as well) was
that it picked an odd resolution that made my monitor act up. I chose manual select
for my resolution, did 800x600x65k, and voila! It worked. Later I pplayed with
other/higher resolutions, and got some working, but that did the trick for me.
Might try it -- After only 4 months with Linux, I only keep DOS6 & Win98 partitions
for some games, played after working hours, of course <G> <G>.  --Alan
