I agree with Juvenal; sometimes "too much of the same" is installed by the default options. However, one specific type of software I miss are the suites (packages with word processing, spreadsheets and a bunch of other stuff very few people use but everyone wants available if need be). More specifically, I miss StarOffice, which has become IMHO a de facto standard for suites under Linux (flames to /dev/null, please). KOffice is still a dream, and separate pieces of sofware (e.g., Abiword and Gnumeric, both good programs) are not the same as a suite, and if you have tried to copy-and-paste cross apps you know what I mean. Granted, StarOffice is not open source, and has a nighmarish, 1994 MS-Works lookalike "integrated desktop". But it _is_ in the Power Pack, isn't it? Maybe it should be available for the cheapbyte bunch, myself included - after all, it is hardly a "power" app. Thanks, /J. -- ******************************** * Registered Linux User Number * * 178234 * ********************************
