[newbie] Doom question...

Okay, I grabbed the rpm of Doom from my Mandrake
7.0 CD, and installed it via kpackage. It runs,
as long as I use drakconf to set my desktop colors
to 256. Is there any way to get it to run on my
normal Voodoo 3000 setup? (1024 x 768 x 32bit).
