Thank you for your great reply Tom! I will do this. Thanks again for your
help. Also the "Do you really...?" does get annoying ;)

|
| well now I need to admit to not being much more'n sophmore newbie
| myself ;) I don't very often run into needin to uninstall, 'cause
| I can't resist upgrading (new install) everytime Mandrake does ;)
|
| I have used the 'make uninstall' option when it was included by
| the author. The few times I've removed a program I've used 'locate
| <program name>' to find all the relative files, and then delete
| them that way (slow and tedious), but many times you can just zap a
| whole dir. I use KDE and Kfm, it's a lot easier than a bunch of
| 'rm's, specially since 'rm' is aliased to "Do you really... ? ;-)
|
| the locate command is a good friend. I prefer it much more than
| the KDE 'find' utility, which sometimes couldn't find it's way
| out'a a paper bag. In a normal install, and the system is left on
| overnite, the locate DB is updated at 4am. But you can find recent,
| not yet added to the DB files quickly by updating the DB ('locate
| -u' as root). Takes a minute, but it's still quicker/better than
| 'find'. 'Least ways for me it is.
