[newbie] knewmail problem

I'm newbie in linux-mandrake.
I installed mandrake 6.1 and I like KDE .
I like to use "knewmail" for download my all email.
so i config knewmail but i'm not able to setup 
Automatic MailReader like Pine or Mutt. which automatic
open all download email.

for your information, now i setup with this command
" xterm -e elm "
but not work.

please help.
