I'm experimenting with Linux once again -- want to use it as a networked
workstation. I installed Mandrake 7.1 without a hitch, but ran into
problems when upgrading. I followed the advice on the Mandrake Update
website, and tried to upgrade the kernel manually. Downloaded rpms, and
used rpm -Uvh. Everything worked fine until I rebooted the machine (running
in dual boot right now). Got the following error:

  Booting 'linux'

kernel (hd1,4)/boot/vmlinuz-smp root=/dev/sb5

Error: File not found

What to do? More importantly, what did I do wrong in the upgrade to cause
this? Are there explicit instructions somewhere on how to upgrade the
kernel using RPM?

Thanks,

Bryan
