[newbie] how to restart

I was playing around with trying to get ipmasq and ip chains running, and screwed up so badly now I can not restart linux. anyone got any ideas? not even with linux 1 will it boot. I get a set of errors about ipforwarding errors and then it freezes. anyway to get mandrake 7.0 (air) to start so that I could just not start those services until I can straighten out my config files? (with lilo)???? Help!!!
