Are you using NIS onyou LAN? If not, try shutting down the service ypbin in
startup services...no need to have it running if you're not using it.

But, if you're using it, you may wich to check the configuration of the
/etc/yp.conf file, and check it against what is being stored in
/etc/yp/binding/domainname.version

man ypbind   will give you all the arguments and config settings for the
service.
