Connect the printer to the 7.2 box and install it with printerdrake or
kups as a local printer (see
http://www.mandrakeuser.org/hardware/hcups2.html). Check whether you
have set the options (paper size, resolution, ...) correctly so that you
can print from the 7.2 machine. To make the printers accessible from a
client which only runs LPD (your 5.3 machine), set up the CUPS-LPD mini
daemon which emulates LPD on your server (see
http://www.mandrakeuser.org/hardware/hcups4.html#lpdcl). On the client
(5.3 machine) you do now the same as you did if the server was a LPD
machine. The printer names of the emulated LPD are exactly the same as
of CUPS. So if you have given the same name to your printer on the 7.2
system as it had before you installed 7.2, you do not need to change
anything in the /etc/printcap of your 5.3 client.
