I am running Windows ME, and attempting to install Mandrake 7.2
I have two partitions on my hard disk, which were set up when I got the
PC, but which I have resized using Partition Magic
* C for programs and data, and
* D for a compressed backup.

At install, I chose the option "Use existing partition" within the DrakX
Partitioning wizard.
I then got the message :-
Partitioning failed. Your Windows partition is too fragmented, please run
"defrag" first at /usr/bin/perl-install-interactive.pm line 113

Not knowing what this meant, I stopped the install, defragmented my hard
disk, and tried again. But I got the same message.

Would re-sizing my C/D partitions solve the problem, or should I try to
remove the partition altogether and start again ? Or is there some other
solution.

Thanks
