I dont know what the problem is - but you shouldn't need a driver or
anything for the Ricoh - I have the exact same model and I can read and
write to CD's and I didn't have to do anything at all!
I have read in other messages that some people have problems trying to use
multiple CD (or DVD) drives in Linux.
