What kind of video card is on board? Normally I would agree with the
person, and saying that intergrated anything is just EVIL, but some
cards work well from my experience.

For example, on board "AGP" ATI cards. I have two mo-bo's that have on
board "AGP" ATI cards, and they work just fine. It may just be that the
one you have isn't support. Could be that the one you have is altered
and isn't an "out of the box" kind of thing if you bought a $40 video
card. I've been fortunate in that mine have been, you might not be.

Also all my mo-bo's at home are ASUS, and they have a good contract with
ATI and they just intergrate it. Almost as if they just sent you the
video card with the mo-bo.

So check the card's web site. They may provide Linux drivers. But you
may consider going to a local computer store and buying an "old" ATI
card for the system. I bought the XPert 98, I think, and it was $39. I
bought it from Amtech Computers, which is local to Ann Arbor, MI, but
they do have a web page that you could order from, they have pretty good
prices for video cards, at least that I've seen. www.amtechonline.com/

Good luck!
