Got a problem with xfs at boot time.
I worked at it for a couple of days and couldn't get rid of it. Need help!
Here's what I get at boot:
Starting X font server [ok]
At the login prompt, where X usually starts, if I do nothing for 3-5
seconds, I get:
Press <return> to continue
INIT: Switching to runlevel 3
INIT: Sending processes the TERM signal
And I hit <return>
Then I get the login prompt and I log in as root.
If I try to restart xfs:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/xfs restart:
Reloading X font server [FAILED]
If I try to start it:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/xfs start:
Starting X font server [OK] ??
If I try to use xset(any options), I get this:
Unable to open display ""
And I can't startx.
What to do?
Thanks for your help,
Martin
