Each version of Linux is bigger than the last. But are older versions necessarily more secure? For example, if I wanted to use LM 6.0 so it'd work on my 486, and just try to find out about any security flaws in it and fix those? Most of the basic linux programs- cron, ftp, the daemons- stay about the same from distro to distro in general, don't they? Dan
