You have connected the Digital I/O cable to the CD. Two wires right? While this works (you'll need to enable the mixer apps to turn it on, as it is off by default)... you really need to use an analog CD audio cable, as this is what most Linux apps expect. -JMS [EMAIL PROTECTED] |-----Original Message----- |From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:newbie-owner@linux- |mandrake.com] On Behalf Of Matt Harrison |Sent: Sunday, August 26, 2001 5:43 PM |To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Ton Strijbosch |Subject: Re: [newbie] No Sound for CD | |On Sunday 26 August 2001 01:15, Ton Strijbosch wrote: |> On Sunday 26 August 2001 06:35, Matthew Harrison wrote: |> > Hey Gang, |> > Slight problem. For CD players this is needed to play audio CD's. As far as |hardware and windows go, I am am as good as a person can be, but I get |humbled by linux. It just seems odd that the sound would work when KDE |starts up, but not when a cd is being played. | |Matt | |_________________________________________________________ |Do You Yahoo!? |Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com |
