the problem is the default "nv" drivers. opengl under that is terrible. get the ones off of nvidias web site (aka the "nvidia" ones) and you should be getting at least 50-55 fps. Well I have a geforce 2MX with a AMD k6-2 550Mhz and 384Megs of ram and I get 50-55 FPS so you should get more. I'm also running tux with a few features turned on and tux at 1024x768. at the default 640x480 stuff I get 60fps easy. hth Robert MacLean ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jeremy Davidson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Saturday, August 25, 2001 5:31 AM Subject: [newbie] tuxracer getting bad framerates > I finally got Tuxracer to work -- had to tell RPMDrake (Software Manager?) > to install the mesa packages. > > Now, however, it runs at about 1-2 fps.
