I had some troubles with
it before, and now, when i installed the 8.1 final it came back
:-(((
To the problems :
I have Celeron 466 + 192
MB Ram + S&F 4*4*24 CDR/W + Voodoo 3 3000 3dfx USB + USR 33.6
Modem
I bought the Powerpack of
the LM 8.0, and no matter what i did, i can't make my 3dfx DRI to
work.
When i installed the LM
8.1 Beta 1 , the DRI worked excellent without making any changes at all !!

Now, i downloaded the LM
8.1 Final, and the troubles are back - The DRM fails to run the
'initBus'
and the DRI fails to run
the 'Initscreen' so i always have my 'Direct Rendering : no' when
running
the 'glxinfo'. I've tried
the 'glxgears' and it works, but it takes 100% CPU, so i guest it's using the
software
rendering. I edited the
XF86Config-4 and have the 'Load DRI', 'Load DBE' and all this stuff, also have
the
'Option DRI True' in the
device section. I sow the XConfig86.0.log and sow that at start everything
good
then it found my 3dfx
chipset ad BusID 1:0:0 (i suppose it peans USB), then no errors at all, and
right
in the end of the log :
(II) DRM failed to init at busid (7, 1:0:0), (EE) DRI failed to 'initdevice' (or
something)
Can anyone please help me
to solve the problem (civikme, charles) ?
