When you installed were you not given the option to install 4.10 with 3d hardware accel? How do you know that you do not have 3d? What does your /etc/X11/XF86Config say? I have 4 ATI cards, 2 Radeons and 2 Xpert 2000s, and all have full 3d out of the box. Charles
