0 [card1 ]: CS4236 - CS4237B CS4237B at 0x534, irq 5, dma 1&3 This seems correct as far as it goes. In OS/2 Warp, the card also uses irq 9 and several additional ioports. > Do you use devfs (it's standard > in LM8.1) ? When I issue the same ls command, I get "No such file or directory." When I issue "ls -l /dev/mixer0" I see: crw------- 1 root audio 14, 0 Nov 19 21:14 /dev/mixer0 I also have a /dev/mixer1, a /dev/mixer2, and a /dev/mixer3 . The ls -l command gives similar output for them, except mixer1 is "0 Nov 19," mixer2 is "32 Nov 19," and mixer3 is "48 Nov 19." > I read a post in french (!) on the alsa-user list (!) recently from someone > who lost sound after his 'upgrade' to Windows XP .... I try to avoid Win anything at all costs.
