from your post it seems you have managed to lose all partition info on a complete drive? and you don't know the partition info (cylinder boundaries etc)
look for 'mrecover' and also 'testdisk' on the net, if you haven't touched the drive than you may be able to recover some partitions depending on what filesystems you had on there, bascule
