Just an idea: change append=" devfs=mount quiet" to " devfs=nomount quiet" in /etc/lilo.conf for your default boot image. Then run 'lilo'. After a reboot your system should have devfs disabled. Douglas, snd-card-es1938 is an ALSA driver, are you also using ALSA? Good luck! -Frans
