i have to agree, if you have your own good apps, you don't need to pay for 
theirs, and help them.  better continuing development on open office, 
abiword, and kword than running MSoffice in wine.  and it can be done, 
easily.  net apps are more popular with hackers than office suite (IMHO) 
and what net app on MS would you trade for what you can do in linux?  when 
office apps become important enough to the hackers who write the apps, we 
will have an explosion, and ms will be left behind there too.

note the advances in open office, the day has come

or brainless.  i will take gimp over photoshop for 85% of everything you 
can do in either.  better off if he brought up games.

games seem to be one place linux struggles, and so many computer users use 
their machines for gaming.  if loki were still out there, and transgaming 
announced they were making money, i would feel better, but gaming in the 
one place linux does struggle in my opinion.
